Welcome to the Office of DDE, Kozhikode
Consequent to the re-organisation of General Education Department held in November 1979, Office of the Regional Deputy Directorate of Public Instruction was converted as Deputy Directorate (Education), Kozhikode. The office is situated in Mananchira, the heart of the city.
The Deputy Director, Education has charge over all the Government/Aided/Unaided Recognised Schools and Educational Offices in Kozhikode district. For the smooth co-ordination of the academic and administrative matters, 3 District Educational Officers (DEO) and 17 Assistant Educational Officers (AEO) are working under the Deputy Director, Education.
The Deputy Director, Education is assisted by Administrative Assistant in administrative matters, Accounts Officer in audit and allied matters and Assistant Provident Fund Officer in K.A.S.E.P.F. matters. They are supported by around 100 staff members.
Kozhikode district has 1244 schools altogether in the Government/Aided/Unaided Recognised sector. Around 17,500 teachers and 4 lakh students are involved in the teaching learning process in the district.
